As the leaves begin to change, so does our wardrobes. Fall 2024 Fashion Trends are shaping up to be a season of exciting contrasts, blending bold patterns with cozy textures and retro silhouettes. Let’s dive into the top trends that will dominate the fashion scene this autumn.
Fall 2024 Fashion Trends: Cheetah Print
Cheetah Print has been trending all summer and now it’s rolling into fall. From accessories to full-length coats, this timeless pattern adds a wild touch to any outfit. Be careful with Cheetah print, it can make you look cheap if you aren’t choosing the right fabrics and materials. The best way to achieve a chic look with print is going to be through shoes. I’m loving these maryjane ballet flats, for those of you who prefer sneakers, these Jeffrey Campbell or the Cheetah Samba’s are so cute and all three of these shoes are selling out fast! Another chic and safe way to wear cheetah while being stylish is with a scarf, I’m loving this one here.
Drapey Delights
Flowing, draped garments are taking center stage. Not only do they add dimension to your outfit but, they also provide a effortlessly chic look. When shopping for this trend, look for loose-fitting coats with wide collars. Trench Coats are going to be the most traditional way for us to get the most out of this trend, see my top 5 affordable Trench’s if you need some recommendations. My favorites are Everlane Trench’s if you’re in the market for one. We’ll also be seeing a lot of asymmetrical dresses, tops, and even pants that create elegant, effortless flowy silhouettes. Another way we will be seeing people utilize this trend is with big long scarfs, I am loving so many right now from Acne Studios and Mango. Don’t be afraid to go thrifting for these sort of garments. You may find some great vintage pieces.
Color Pop Revolution: Fall 2024 Fashion Trends
While fall typically brings muted tones, 2024 is all about vibrant pops of color. We saw many fashion houses showcase their choice of colors. Expect to see Green, cherry red, bright red, and blue a lot. These rich, jewel tones will be seen in everything from cozy knits to sleek evening wear. Lofficiel shares more colors that we’ll be seeing, like burgundy, gray, brown, and taupe. When it comes to adding color in your wardrobe, it should be a color that you know you’ll like long term. I personally will be playing it safe and adding the cherry red and bright red since I love those color hues and I know I’ll be wearing them again next fall despite the trends. Here are some of my Classic staples: Shoes: Burgundy Loafer Sam Edelaman has a variety of colors and these loafers are super comfy; Scarfs: A Red Scarf; Knitwear: A Red Sweater and a cherry red cardigan from COS. Yes, COS is a bit pricy but this cherry red color is absolutely stunning and the material is amazing, it looks & feels very high-end.
Utility/ Farm Jackets
Trench Coats will always be in but now we have cropped and short coats that we’ll be seeing a lot of. A huge trend that will have everyone looped in are the utility/farm coats. Some of my favorites are J.CREW, and Everlane. When it comes to short Trench Coats, I am in love with this one from Farm Rio.
Long and Lean
Sweater and Skirt Combos The long-lined sweater paired with a matching or contrasting skirt is the go-to look for a polished yet comfortable style. You will most likely have this in your closet already, so get to styling! Some of my affordable favorite skirts are this long black one and this long green one from Mango. I am also really loving the chain belts I feel like they can easily make a boring outfit more unique Ramy Brook has many to choose from and Madewell has nice very skinny leather belts.
Texture Play
Fur, Leather, and Fringe Tactile fabrics are huge this season. Fur (faux or real) adds luxury, leather brings edge, and fringe offers a playful, boho vibe. These style will be heavily available in fast fashion stores. But they will most likely look cheap! I strongly recommend you buy second hand as these styles scream vintage and I am positive you can find an amazing fur or leather coat at your local thrift stores.
Classic Outerwear: Fall 2024 Fashion Trends
Pea coats, the timeless stalwarts of fall fashion, are getting a fresh update this season. While these iconic coats have never truly left the style scene, designers are now reimagining them with modern twists – think unexpected textures, updated silhouettes, and innovative detailing. Remember, a well-crafted pea coat is a wardrobe investment that transcends trends.
On the sportier side, oversized bomber jackets are making a bold statement. These relaxed, athletic-inspired pieces offer a perfect blend of comfort and style for milder autumn days. However, buyer beware: the key to pulling off this look lies in the quality. Cheap versions can often appear tacky or ill-fitting. For the best results, we recommend seeing and feeling these jackets in person before purchasing. Pay close attention to the material, construction, and overall quality to ensure you’re investing in a piece that will elevate your fall wardrobe rather than detract from it.
Whether you opt for the refined elegance of a reimagined pea coat or the casual cool of an oversized bomber, this season’s outerwear options offer something for every style sensibility.
Checkered Prints
This fall 2034 Fashion Trends introduces checkered prints making a comeback, dominating the fashion landscape with their versatile charm. From understated plaids to eye-catching oversized checks, this pattern is reinventing itself for the modern wardrobe while paying homage to its rich history.
The beauty of checkered prints lies in their adaptability. When rendered in high-quality fabrics like cotton, polyester, or nylon, these patterns elevate any outfit with a touch of sophistication and visual interest. The interplay of lines and squares creates a luxurious look that can transition seamlessly from casual daywear to more polished ensembles.
Drawing inspiration from the 90s and early 2000s, this trend offers a nostalgic yet fresh appeal. It’s the perfect opportunity to embrace the cyclical nature of fashion and perhaps even raid your parents’ or grandparents’ closets for authentic vintage pieces. Mixing these retro finds with contemporary items creates a unique, personalized style that bridges generations.
As we embrace these Fall 2024 Fashion trends, remember that fashion is all about self-expression. Mix these elements to create a style that’s uniquely you. Whether you’re drawn to the wild side with cheetah print or prefer the classic elegance of a pea coat, there’s something for everyone this season.
